Privacy Policy
How Solutions The Legal Way handles information from website visitors, prospective clients, and clients.
Effective date: October 28, 2026
Who we are
This policy applies to legalwayz.com and our related inquiries, scheduling, document-preparation, review, and support services. Solutions The Legal Way is operated by Shawon Walker. Contact us at connect@legalwayz.com, 562.294.1195, or 2201 E. Willow Street, Suite D No. 276, Signal Hill, CA 90755.
Information we collect
- Contact and inquiry information: name, email, phone number, mailing address when needed, service interest, and messages you choose to send.
- Scheduling and chat: appointment details, communication preferences, chat content, and associated timestamps and technical data.
- Client records: documents, factual statements, signatures, instructions, and supporting records needed for the agreed service. Depending on the matter, these may contain financial, health, family, educational, criminal-history, identification, or other sensitive information. Provide only information needed for your service and that you are authorized to disclose.
- Transactions: invoices, amounts, payment status, payer identification, and transaction references. Payment providers handle their own account and financial credentials; do not send passwords or complete card/bank credentials through our inquiry forms or chat.
- Technical information: hosting and other providers may process IP addresses, browser/device details, requested pages, timestamps, security logs, cookies, and similar identifiers.
We obtain information from you, authorized representatives, documents you provide, and providers supporting the requested interaction. When needed for agreed work, we may obtain public court or agency records.
Why we use information
We use information to respond to inquiries, schedule appointments, communicate about requested services, prepare and review documents, carry out authorized filing or service coordination, obtain signatures, administer payments, maintain records, protect our systems, and meet legal obligations. Sensitive client information is used for the agreed service and related recordkeeping, not advertising.
Contact forms, booking, and chat
When you select Send inquiry, the website sends your name, email address, service interest, and message to FormSubmit, which processes the submission and forwards it to our email inbox. FormSubmit may also process technical information to deliver the form and prevent spam. See FormSubmit’s Privacy Policy. The form does not open your email application. Our separate email links remain available if you prefer to contact us directly. Microsoft Bookings handles appointments through its separate booking page. Our chat uses tawk.to. After you acknowledge the chat privacy notice and choose Open chat, we load the tawk.to chat panel. We store your consent choice and open/minimized panel preference in session storage and first-party session cookies so chat can remain available as you navigate this website in the same tab. The chat provider maintains conversation continuity using its own cookies and storage. Use Reset chat consent in the footer to clear our preference and stop loading chat on subsequent pages. This does not delete prior messages or provider cookies. A separate chat-page link is available if the embedded panel cannot load. It may process messages, technical identifiers, cookies, and local storage to operate chat and recognize visits.
Please use initial inquiries, bookings, and chat for brief service questions. Do not submit confidential documents, Social Security numbers, account credentials, or detailed medical records through these channels. Document submission arrangements are provided after we confirm the scope.
Providers and other disclosures
We use FormSubmit to process and deliver website inquiries; Microsoft 365, Outlook, OneDrive, and Microsoft Bookings for communications, file storage, and scheduling; Adobe Acrobat Sign for electronic signatures; tawk.to for chat; and website hosting and infrastructure providers for delivery and security. Zelle, PayPal, and Venmo process electronic payments. PayPal and Venmo accounts currently identify the proprietor by personal name; confirm payment instructions with us before paying. Cash payments are recorded for business administration.
Providers may process information to operate their services under their terms, settings, and applicable privacy notices. Their systems may retain security, transaction, or backup records independently of our routine deletion schedule. When you follow an external link or use a provider’s page, its privacy practices also apply.
We disclose relevant information to courts, agencies, process servers, publication/recording providers, or other recipients when needed for work you authorize; to legal or accounting advisers when necessary; or as required by law, legal process, or protection of rights and security. Court filings may become public. We do not sell personal information or disclose it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Cookies, fonts, and tracking choices
Hosting/security services may use cookies to deliver and protect this website. Chat uses cookies and similar technology when activated. Our pages request fonts from Google Fonts, which can expose technical request information such as IP address and browser details to Google. Third-party providers may recognize interactions over time or across services using their technologies.
We have not installed Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or another dedicated analytics program on this website. Google Search Console provides search-performance information. We plan to evaluate analytics tools and will update this policy and implement applicable choices before activating new collection.
This website does not currently change its operation in response to browser Do Not Track signals. We do not use information for sale or cross-context advertising; any applicable Global Privacy Control opt-out requirements will be honored. You may restrict cookies through your browser, use email instead of chat, or avoid external booking/payment tools. Some features may be affected.
Retention
Our retention schedule uses the following periods, subject to required retention, pending work, disputes, preservation obligations, attorney-client engagement instructions, and necessary legal or accounting records:
- Unsuccessful inquiries: 12 months after last contact.
- Routine chat and appointment records: 12 months; relevant client communications are transferred to the client file.
- Completed client working files: retained for 3 years after service completion, then reviewed for deletion or any documented continuing need.
- Signed agreements, consent records, invoices, and payment records: 7 years after the relationship ends.
- Unnecessary duplicate downloads and temporary copies: deleted within 30 days after the authoritative copy is confirmed.
- Marketing contacts: retained until unsubscribe or an inactivity review determines continued retention is unnecessary. Minimal suppression records may be kept to honor opt-outs.
Deletion may take additional time in provider systems and backups according to their retention cycles. We limit further use of records retained solely for preservation or compliance. We do not guarantee immediate removal from independent court, agency, or payment-provider records.
Access and security
Client documents are stored in client-specific OneDrive folders. The proprietor is currently the only person with business-side access; provider processing is described above. We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information and review access when staffing or systems change. No internet transmission or storage method is completely secure. Contact us promptly about suspected unauthorized access or misdirected information.
Marketing choices
We plan to offer newsletters and promotional updates through a separate optional subscription. Booking a consultation, contacting us, or purchasing a service does not enroll you in unrelated marketing. You may unsubscribe through a marketing message or email us. Appointment and service communications can continue as needed. Public blog posts do not require newsletter enrollment.
Minors
For services involving students under 18, we require parent or guardian authorization and the student’s participation as appropriate. The parent or guardian should make the initial inquiry and act as the contracting contact. We do not knowingly accept direct online submissions from children under 13. Parents should contact us before providing a child’s information. If we learn of unauthorized child submissions, we will review and remove information where required.
Your privacy requests
Contact us by email, phone, or mail to request access to information you provided, correction, deletion, or withdrawal of optional consent. We may verify identity using proportionate information and may retain records needed for legal obligations, ongoing work, or other permitted purposes. Withdrawal can affect services requiring the information. We explain any applicable limits.
Where applicable, California privacy law may provide additional rights to know/access, correct, delete, opt out of sale/sharing, limit certain uses of sensitive information, and receive equal treatment when exercising rights. These rights depend on statutory coverage and exceptions; this policy does not assert that every CCPA provision applies to our business. Authorized agents may contact us with evidence of their authority.
Future portal and AI processing
A client portal is planned but is not currently provided by this website. We do not currently use AI tools to process client documents in our service workflow. Before introducing such processing or a portal, we will assess providers, access and confidentiality protections, update relevant disclosures, and obtain authorization or consent where required. This policy does not authorize undisclosed future uses.
Policy changes
We will post changes on this page with an updated effective date. For material changes affecting collected information, we will provide appropriate notice and obtain consent when required. Please contact us with privacy questions.
