Written agreements and service scope
These website terms explain general policies. They do not replace the prescribed signed California LDA contract, required consumer notices, an attorney-support agreement, or a specific service agreement. Mandatory law controls over conflicting terms. The signed agreement identifies documents, stages, quantities, fees, deliverables, and timing. Website starting prices are not a guarantee of the final fee or acceptance of an assignment. No paid service begins until applicable agreement and notice requirements are satisfied.
Public document preparation follows the self-represented client’s instructions. The client chooses claims, defenses, requested relief, documents, and approach. We do not provide legal advice, legal strategy, eligibility opinions, or court representation. Paralegal research, analysis, and drafting are separate services under attorney direction and supervision. Consumer Document Review explains document contents and source-provided instructions; it does not determine legal rights or provide individualized legal recommendations.
Free introductory consultations
Consultations last 15 minutes and cover service needs, scope, and pricing. Document review and detailed case work are separate. Please cancel or reschedule through Microsoft Bookings at least 24 hours ahead when possible. There is no fee for a missed free consultation. We allow a five-minute grace period, but appointments end at their scheduled time. One rebooking is available after a first missed appointment; repeated missed appointments require direct contact before another booking. Booking or chatting does not create an attorney-client relationship or engage us for paid work.
California LDA cancellation protections
You may cancel an applicable LDA contract for any reason within 24 hours after both parties sign it. Give written notice stating that the contract is canceled. Statutory methods include delivery to the business address within that period or first-class prepaid mail; mailed cancellation is effective on the postmark date. We also accept written cancellation by email to connect@legalwayz.com. This additional method does not limit statutory methods or rights.
Upon statutory rescission, fees are immediately refunded, except only those charges permitted by law for services actually, necessarily, and reasonably performed with your knowing and express written consent. We ordinarily begin paid LDA work after the 24-hour period. Any requested early work must be specifically identified and authorized in writing; that authorization does not waive cancellation rights.
Where statutory contract deficiencies entitle you to void the agreement and receive a full refund, we honor that right without work-based deductions. You retain cancellation for legal cause and all other applicable remedies. These terms do not waive rights under California Business and Professions Code sections 6400–6415.
Other paid-service cancellations and refunds
Subject to the statutory protections above, you may request cancellation in writing. Before work starts, paid service fees are refunded; properly authorized third-party charges already incurred and not recoverable may be excluded only when lawful. After work starts, any charge for completed work must be documented and valued using milestones or a cancellation hourly rate disclosed and agreed before work begins. Charges are capped at the approved fee unless you authorized additional scope. The unused balance is refunded. We do not treat the entire deposit as automatically nonrefundable.
If we cannot complete an assignment, we refund unperformed work and unused expense funds and provide completed materials as appropriate. A court or agency denial does not itself create an automatic refund, but does not eliminate remedies for errors or other legal rights. Our preparation errors are corrected without charge. Client originals are returned when requested, on cancellation, or when required by law; they are not held as security for payment.
Document Review purchases and monthly plans
Single-review, package, and monthly-plan prices remain as published on the Document Review page. Single and package reviews include one explanation letter and one clarification exchange of up to 15 minutes per document. Subscription-plan clarification counts toward included hours. Document-preparation revision rounds and deposits do not apply to Document Review.
Prepaid packages are allocated equally across their included reviews. On cancellation, unused reviews are refunded at that allocated package price; properly documented work on a started review is handled under the agreed cancellation valuation, subject to mandatory rights. Any six-month use period does not override applicable statutory protections or refund rights.
Automatic recurring billing is not currently offered. Monthly plans are purchased for one month at a time, and continuation requires a new authorized purchase. We do not automatically charge another month. If you purchase consecutive months, the published one-month rollover allowance applies. If you do not continue, unused hours expire at the end of the purchased period, subject to the agreed refund treatment and applicable law. Refund calculations for unused paid plan time are stated in the signed agreement; no blanket nonrefundability is imposed by these terms. Annual plans are not currently offered.
Before introducing automatic renewal, we will implement applicable clear disclosures, express affirmative consent, retainable acknowledgment, consent records, easy online cancellation, and required reminders and notices, including annual-term, qualifying trial, and fee-change notices. Any automatic-renewal enrollment will require its own disclosed terms and consent; acceptance of these website terms does not authorize recurring charges.
Payment, revisions, and additional expenses
Document-preparation packages require a 50% deposit under the applicable signed contract. The balance is due before filing and release of final copies, subject to mandatory document-return and refund rights. Two consolidated revision rounds within scope are included; our preparation-error corrections do not use those rounds. New facts, instructions, documents, proceedings, hearings, appeals, or applications require an approved scope change before additional work. Attorney and organizational agreements specify their own milestones, revision allowances, and payment terms.
Court/agency fees, process service, publication, recording, notary, and approved third-party charges are separate. Ordinary paper-filing postage is included when quoted; special delivery is separate. Filing and process-server coordination are included only when specified. Electronic filing is available where supported, with local paper filing in Los Angeles and Orange Counties. Applicable fee funds may be supplied by clients. Confirm payment instructions directly with us; PayPal and Venmo currently identify the proprietor by personal name.
Timing, filing, and client responsibilities
Initial preparation drafts are generally estimated at 3–5 business days after complete materials, instructions, and the required payment, subject to applicable cancellation protections. Complex matters receive separate estimates. Expedited work requires written acceptance and confirmed scope and fee. Court/agency processing, statutory waiting periods, and outcomes are outside our control.
Provide accurate facts, complete records, known deadlines, and information you are authorized to disclose. Review drafts, approve instructions, and sign required materials. An inquiry or pending quote does not make us responsible for a deadline. Filing coordination includes submission records and available filed copies where agreed. Minor technical corrections within scope are included; new substantive requirements are reviewed before added work. We do not guarantee acceptance, benefits, admission, relief, or a case outcome.
Privacy, minors, and third-party tools
See our Privacy Policy for information use, providers, retention, and requests. Do not send sensitive information through initial inquiries, booking, or chat. Student services for minors require parent/guardian authorization and appropriate student participation. Initial contracting contact should come from the parent/guardian. External booking, chat, signing, and payment providers have their own terms. A secure client portal is planned but is not currently available on this site.
Website use and updates
Use the website lawfully; do not attempt unauthorized access, submit malicious material, impersonate others, or interfere with its operation. Public content is general information, not case-specific legal advice. You may retain materials supplied for your authorized service; third-party content remains subject to its own rights.
We may update these website terms prospectively with a new effective date. Changes do not retroactively alter signed engagements or authorize new charges. No provision excludes responsibility or limits a remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded. For LDA disputes, statutory venue protections apply, including the client’s California county of primary residence where required. Contact us using the details above with cancellation or service questions.
